Birks are Back!

Today whilst reading my normal blogs that I normally read I came across a post that say birkenstocks are back and I am am ecstatic! I have been taunted for the last few years because of my love for my birks! If Free People says they are cool, then I believe it! If it weren't raining this weekend, I would be all over these... who knows. I still may. We are going to the Farmer's Market, people go barefoot there!

Help with Style

Help Japan by purchasing this shirt for $20 from Respire Apparel. 100% of the profits go to Global Living Tsunami and Earth Quake relief. And, I think it is a pretty amazing design.

A dream

I am totally digging this outfit! You may think that the bottom portion of this ensemble is a skirt, but it is a pant with a skirt overlay to create an amazing mermaid effect! By Jil Sander

Monday wind down...

After a morbid Monday I thought a little fashion and wine was a good way to wind down... along with a little easy baking. Today my green venture buddy and I nearly were killed in the HOV lane by a single driver in a truck. I don't mean his relationship status, but he was alone in his truck, and he shouldn't have swerved into the HOV lane and shoved us into the shoulder. Thank goodness Mrs. B Kim was driving because she safely got us out of the situation, but had I been driving I am sure he would have run me right into the cement barrier. For the remainder of our Green Venture we relived all the car wrecks we have been in.
Then, on our drive home we discussed all the funerals we had been to because Mrs. B. Kim's dear husband's grandmother passed away earlier today. I teared up a few times in the car today remembering all the ones we have lost.

Thus the morbid Monday title. A hard, sad day.
So, I decided cinnamon in the air and wine on the palette would be a good cure. Recipe and baking process to follow.

I hope everyone else had a great Monday! If not, I suggest picking up a Vogue and a bottle of wine.

Me thinks I like these

These Inca Boots are super freaking awesome. (Not to mention all the really cute outfits the models are wearing on the website)

Perhaps I living in the South West is getting to me, but I think I could totally pull these off, maybe with a cute sun dress. even some skinny jeans.
These boots were hand made in Peru, made of suede and lamb's wool makes up the design on the top of the boot. I think these are the next best thing after the Ugg, however, my Uggs will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart and closet.

People Tree...

So I have been on a Harry Potter rampage since Mustang Man purchased me the entire series on BlueRay for Christmas. I was doing my normal Facebook snooping while watching the "Sorcerer's Stone," or "Philosopher's Stone" if you have the UK version like I do, and looked up the lovely Emma Watson. She really put herself on the map for me when she chopped her hair off. She was just a normal pretty girl, but what a statement! I googled her to take a good look at her new do and I realized she is actually stunning, long hair or not.
Photo from here.
Anyhow, on her Facebook page she mentioned working with People Tree on a line of clothing. I of course googled it immediately, as Emma has great style. I love love everything they carry! And the best part is, it is Fair Trade and organic. The problem? It is a UK company and there are no stores or catalog options here in the states. If there were, I would be all over that!. Still worth looking at I think.

Not diggin' it...

http://islandista.wordpress.com/2009/05/10/trend-alert-distressed-jeans/

What happened to power equaling class... Jackie O style?

Recently my sister and I went to Scottsdale Fashion Square. The stores there are amazing... Gucci, Luis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Tiffany's etc...  So why do I see girls that are toting around the LV bags, but wearing VS (Victoria Secret) Sweat pants with the tag sticking out. Have we gotten too casual??? This whole distressed trend coming back is making me nervous. Kurt Cobain rocking the flannels and the safety pinned denim is one thing, but when the royalty that is Hollywood is steping out in them, I start to grow a little weary. I hope the revisit of this fad leaves sooner than it did last time!
