Art of my youth
This piece was one of those exercises where the "artist" looks at the subject 90% of the time and at the paper 10% of the time... This was my only piece of mine that ended up in the high school art show. I still dig this ol' bike.

I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today
This song takes me back... |
My favorite paisley chair blew into the pool and sunk... Today it shall be dubbed "Sunken Treasure." |
Cricket has junk in her trunk. |
Sometimes awesome things just happen, and having "No Rain" by Blind Melon come on Pandora while it is in fact raining, well, I think it is just awesome. It is a dreary day here in the southwest and no one knows what to do, let alone how to drive in it. There is nothing better than to follow Cricket's lead and just sit and watch the rain...

Spicy!
Shopping for spices is heaven to me! I could live in the spice isle! Especially when the spices have this kind of packaging!

Love Love Love Love Love Love Love Love Love Love Love Love Love Love
My brother, also dubbed Brother, and his live-in lady friend are the most adorable couple in the world. Really. They meet each other daily after riding on public transportation vehicles (a train or tram I think). And, every day, they run as fast as they can and embrace each other, as if they haven't seen each other in months. People stare, but it never matters to them.
I would say this photo, found on her Tumbler, pauses for a moment, what they feel every day, the big adventure of love.

Good book, I think
Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier.

Stink-ay
I opened my front door this afternoon to what I thought was the smell of death. Fortunately it was not death, unfortunately, my LouLou had an accident. She didn't even come out to greet me she was so ashamed. (See above) I don't reprimand her because she was home alone for a long time, and well, when you got to go, you got to go. I would just prefer, she go on the tile if she has to. She never has accidents either. Isn't that the saddest face you have ever seen? I would think I was a sadder specimen trying to clean it up. I tied a bandanna around my face cowboy robber style and got Cricket's pooper scooper. GAGGING all the while. I have done the heavy lifting, Mustang Man will now scrub the carpet. And to think, all I wanted to do was
I wish I worked closer to home so I would never have to see that face again.
And now I am burning my first Nag Champa incense in my house. Smells like a frikin hippie in here. Better a hippie than poo though. This is takin' me back to Jr. High.
*Note: I apologize for the coincidental blogs on top of each other.

Cow pie, of love
Ever since Lindt made their delicious sea salt chocolate bar, maybe even before, I have wanted to make some sea salt chocolate bark. When I was in the north west in September, my dearest mother bought me some seasoned sea salt at the local farmers market. Let me tell you, it is divine. So, I had a little left over melted chocolate from the strawberries and I thought I would give it a go. I have yet to break it up and taste it do to my flu... But I will surely let you know. Looks tastey?

Happy V-Day, sorta
Friday I woke up feeling under the weather, but over the weekend I felt pretty good. But this morning, this Valentine's morn, this was a dismal morning. I called in sick and that was something I did not want to do. I am saving all my PTO for my honeymoon. Well, I woke up drenched in sweat and decided today was a day to hang out on the couch and watch movies. Then I realized it was Valentine's Day. If I am sweating from a fever and whatnot, I might as well sweat over the stove for my Mustang Man.
So I went to the store in my sweats and bought some strawberries, chocolate chips and champagne...
So melt the chocolate chips on low in a sauce pan
Dip the washed berries into the melted chocolate...
Place the dipped berries onto waxed paper...
Chill for a while, next to champagne if you got it.
Then, make it pretty, just in case you get caught, like I did
Even though I am sick, I still wanted partake in it with my Mustang Man this evening. I may be sick, but I am not dead.

Tissue please...
Start with some tissue, color of your choice. Lay about 10-15 layers on top of each other and cut into a square. Any size square will do, then fold it accordian style and twist floral wire around it.
Here I ahve created a chain of tissue poms by twisting together the floral wire. You can see there are various sizes here...
Cut the ends off into any shape you desire. I do pointed, rounded, and heart shape for some variance.
Then start separating each layer of tissue...
Do each side of the tissue until all the poms are puffy
and Voila! A cheap and easy decoration! This chain is going to be about 7 feet tall with at few brothers and sisters as well! Stay tuned!

After an hour search for scissors I am ready to start craft time! I am making tissue poms for the frame Mustang Man and I are getting married in front of... Finally moving forward with the wedding DIY!

My boring brows
Once upon a time I had my already dark brows filled (penciled) for my best friend's wedding. At first I thought it looked terrible and that the ladies at MAC had ruined my best friend's big day because no one would want to look at such a hideous creature. But when I arrived at the vineyard where she was to be married, the reaction was quite the opposite than what I expected. People said it made me look better... not in those words though.
Since then I have always contemplated filling in the ol' brows but have never done it.
Fear, I suppose, of over filling with the wrong color is holding me back... But I have been craving a change in my face and rather than botox...this seems like a good starting point. So, for your viewing pleasure, here is a picture of me in my youth with filled in eyebrows.

She's a queen..
I am mostly doing this post so I no longer have to stare at that hideous picture of me below.
This is my cat. She looks really fat. She isn't though.

To Blog or not to Blog, that is the question
My Green Venture partner and I not only have faux fur lined green jackets for cold Southwestern days, and snuggies, but we are also both bloggers.
Many of our green ventures consist of blog conversations; the blogs we love, the blogs that bore us, and the blogs we wish we were... the authors of. Mrs. B. Kim is at a stand still with her blog as she feels she has lost her creativity and is more likely to sit on the couch than do a craft, while I on this other hand, blog as a sing, "out of tune." I sing just to sing, and I think I sound like an angel. I blog just to blog, and mostly I am just being self-important and rambling.
I truly enjoy Mrs. B. Kim's blog as it is often filled with witty tid-bits like this... So why then, I ask you, must I frequently talk her off a ledge of blog deletion?!?Thursday, February 3, 2011
New nail polish!
I received an email not too long ago to receive 3 free nail polishes. Of course I jumped on the opportunity. This one is called Fiona and I love it! It looks and feels like it will never chip off!

Cozy...
Yes, I am wearing Christmas jammies, and yes, I do wear them year round. |
On freezing nights like this is there anything better than curling up on the couch with slippers and flannel jammies? Sitting here with the heater on though makes me like the view from the couch...although I wish I wasn't watching Two & a Half Men...
